Thomas Ballard was born in Mississippi, in Pike
County. His parents are unknown, but Ballard is
an English name, and the first recorded Ballard in
N.A. arrived in New England in 1633. Thomas
married Barthania ~1856, and they had 3 children
together. She remarried ~1863, so it is likely he
died around then, before turning 40 years old.
