Whenever Spica the Impure deals damage to a player, put X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the amount of life you've gained this turn.
Whenever Spica the Impure would take damage from a creature, instead prevent that damage and put that many -1/-1 counters on both it and the creature that dealt damage to Spica the Impure.
