Richard 'Dick' Hilton Soles was born in Olden,
ON - a woodsman like his father and grandfather.
He wed Elizabeth in Carlow, ON, and they began
to bring the family out west in 1900. Settling in
Parson, BC, they helped build the new town. In
1923, Richard died of a heart attack there, while
working on the road across the river. He was 60.
