Lewis Lincoln Hawes was born in Fond du Lac,
WI. He was 12 when his family moved to Texas,
and 18 when he wed Nancy. Lewis would spend
10 years in prison in 1921, after a fight with his
son Clint turned fatal: Lewis shot and killed Clint
and his pregnant wife Dona. While he was in jail
Nancy died - he remarried after, and lived to 80.
