Judah George was born in Lawrence, IN, to a
minister, William, and a Cherokee woman named
Delilah Crittenden(b. 1788, SC). One day before
her 16th birthday, she wed Hiram, and they left
for TX in 1835. They had 11 children, but only 3
lived to be parents. On her wedding day in 1856,
a day before turning 45, she died in Larissa, TX.
