James Benvie was born in Musquodoboit, NS,
the only boy in a family of 5 girls. He lived on
'Benvie Hill,' the land granted to his grandfather
James in the early 1800s, and married Eliza on
his 30th birthday, in Halifax. After being married
for 48 years, James and Eliza would both die
within two weeks of one another, in Nov, 1924.
