Celia 'Lucy' Magee was born in Washington
Parish, LA, the youngest surviving daughter of
affluent planter parents. She married very young:
she was 14 years old when she and Samuel, 23,
were wed. She became a mother at 17, and would
have 7 kids in all: 4 girls, and 3 boys. Celia lived
all her life in Washington, LA, dying there at 52.
