Alexander Adair was born into a family of farm-
ers in Galt, ON. He would become a tailor,
marrying Selena at 31, and moving their family
out to Armstrong, BC, around 1904: he hoped
the dry BC air could help his asthma. Alexander
was influential in Armstrong, serving a term as
its mayor. He died in 1949, and is buried there.
